Aunt Runner's Chili
(very mild)
Submitted by: Aunt Runner
Location: Enid, Oklahoma
1 onion, chopped
2 pounds chili meat
1 can pork and beans
1 can tomato soup
|
|
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons Chili Powder (or to taste)
|
In a skillet, place chili meat and chopped onion. Cook until chili meat is brown. Drain grease, (I usually
drain grease then place meat and onion in a collander and rinse with very hot water to remove all grease.)
Place chili meat and onion in a large dutch oven. Add beans, tomato soup, tomatoes, salt and chili powder.
Stir mixture and bring to a boil. Once the mixture comes to a boil, turn heat down and simmer chili for
two hours, stirring every 15 minutes.
Note: I often used left over brown beans instead of pork and beans. Serve with fritos and cheese or with
crackers.
