Tony's Fresh Strawberry Pie

1 Quart fresh strawberries,
washed, stemmed and dried
1/2 cup boiling water
2 Tablespoons corn starch

1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
red food coloring, optional
1 (9-inch) baked pie crust

Bake pie crust at 425 degrees until browned, cool. Slice berries into bottom of crust, reserve enough
to make 1 cup of crushed berries. Place into food chopper. Measure sugar, corn starch, salt and boiling
water into saucepan. Stir and cook over medium heat until thickened. Add strawberries and food coloring.
Cool. Pour into pie shell. Place in refrigerator until set. Serve with Cool Whip. Enjoy.
Note: I never have any left if we have company when this is served.
