Recipe - Pies 027
JERRY'S PUMPKIN PIE

Submitted by : Rose Marie Poehlman
Location: Madison Heights, Michigan

1 large can Libby's Pumpkin
4 eggs slightly beaten
1-1/4 cups sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
2-1/2 cans Pet Milk (1 lrg can and 1 small)
This recipe has to be done in a 10" deep pyrex pie plate. It makes one pie. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for the first 20 minutes. Lower temperature to 350 degrees for about another hour or until knife comes out of center clean. Make the pie crust you like best but don't use graham cracker crust. Make sure the pie crust rises above rim of plate and crimp edges. Fill all the way up to the top just below the crimped edges. I hope you enjoy the pie the way we do. Don't just make it for holidays.

Comment: My husband had memories of his mother and grandmothers pumpkin pie when he was a child. They both passed away while he was in his early teens and when we were married, almost 38 yrs ago we got into the kitchen and with his taste buds and my hard work and going through 8 cans of pumpkin we got to where he was satisfied with his taste buds. My neighbors liked me that year because I was handing out pumpkin pies to everyone.
