Crackle Brownies
1 small pkg. milk chocolate
chips (1 cup)
1/3 cup butter or margarine,
softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 cup crisp rice cereal

Melt 1/2 cup of the chocolate over low heat; cool. Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs just till blended.
Stir in cooled chocolate and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking powder, and 1/4 tsp. salt; add to chocolate
mixture. Mix well. Spread in greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
Immediately sprinkle with remaining chocolate; let stand 5 minutes. Spread evenly over top; sprinkle with
cereal. Cool; cut into bars. Makes 24.
