Dissolve yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl. Let stand 5 minutes. While the yeast is setting, combine
dry milk, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add these ingredients to the yeast; then add the
vegetable oil and beat at medium speed of an electric mixer for 2 or 3 minutes until it's blended. Add
2 cups of flour and continue beating with the mixer at medium speed until the mix is smooth. Then stir
in enough additional flour to make a soft dough. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours. I usually refrigerate
it overnight. Be sure the bowl you store it in is large, because the dough rises a lot!)Punch dough down.
Divide into 2 parts. Working with one portion of dough at a time, place on a lightly floured surface and
roll to a 14x9-inch rectangle.
Combine 1 1/2 cup sugar with 4 tablespoons ground cinnamon. Add 3/4 cup melted butter, mixing well. Spread
1/2 cinnamon mixture on dough. Roll jelly roll fashion, starting at long side. Pinch seam to seal. Cut
roll into 14 one-inch slices. Place rolls in greased pan about one inch apart. Repeat process with remaining
dough.
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 40 minutes or until rolls are doubled in bulk. Bake at 375 degrees
for 13 to 15 minutes. Drizzle glaze over rolls while hot. (I use a pastry brush to spread the icing.)
GLAZE:
Combine 3 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and enough milk to make thin icing.
~~~NOTE~~~
This is the exact recipe as I received it, so I have my own additions to add. I do not like such a sweet
roll, so I leave off the icing. This is the very best cinnamon I have ever had from anywhere. They are
so easy to make as well. I made these for Christmas morning, and the reviews are still coming in. Enjoy.
